Programs

General Program

General Programs are for students in years 6 – 9. Aquatics funding allocations for government schools allow for 6 hours of aquatics each year. This would normally be completed during a single day trip (4 activity sessions per day).

Many schools attend MAC on a camp basis and access further aquatic activity sessions/hours. This can be achieved through either ‘Double Aquatics’ approval or by purchasing additional aquatics hours at User Pays rates.

A 12 hour program is our most common program model. Schools generally come from Monday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Friday. This program generally consists of 8 activity sessions:

  • Sailing (catamarans) x 2

  • Kneeboarding

  • Skiing

  • Kayaking / Sit On Kayaking

  • Canoeing

  • Powerboat Handling

  • Stand Up Paddleboarding

Normal Session Times:

  • 8.45am  - 10.15pm

  • 10.30am - 12.00pm

  • 12.30pm - 2.00pm

  • 2.15pm - 3.45pm

Session times can be tailored to suit the needs of the school and will often depend on arrival and departure times. We understand that schools need to travel from a variety of locations and travel times can vary.

SACE

Government schools can access a 12 hour program for Stage 1 and 18 hours for Stage 2. To access the aquatics hours, a current and appropriate Learning and Assessment Plan needs to be provided to the Instructor in Charge, for the booking to be confirmed. Non-government schools can access aquatics hours at User Pays rates.

Students can choose from:

  • Sailing

  • Kayaking

  • Windsurfing

  • Skiing/kneeboarding

  • Powerboat Handling

We have a fleet of GoPro cameras and mounts which schools can utilise to capture footage of students during their program. We also have a range of assessment options which we can tailor to the needs of the curriculum. Talk to the Instructor in Charge for examples.
