Instruction Hours Funding and Costs
Government Schools
Government schools are allocated 6 hours per year level for years 6,7,8, 9 and 10 which can be used for aquatics (no cost for instruction hours!)
Many schools apply for ‘Double Aquatics’ approval from the Water Safety Team to undertake a 12 hour program
Double Aquatics is usually sought by schools in camp situations and generally at a country based aquatic centre
Additional aquatics hours can be purchased at User Pays rates
2024 User Pays rate = $65 / hour (government school)
Student to Instructor Ratio is 6:1 (this can be used to determine number of instructors required)
Non-Government Schools
Non-government schools can access instruction hours on a User Pays basis
2024 User Pays rate = $73 / hour (non-government school)
Student to Instructor Ratio is 6:1 (this can be used to determine number of instructors required)
