Instructors & Qualifications 

Murraylands Aquatic Centre has a team of qualified instructors with extensive experience instructing aquatics activities in a variety of environments, conditions and locations.

  • In order to be approved by the Water Safety Team to work in Aquatics, instructors are required to hold the following mandatory qualifications. These need to be current and updated periodically, as required.

    • Provide First Aid

    • Provide CPR

    • Asthma First Aid

    • Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect Training – Education & Care

  • In order to be able to instruct students in each activity, instructors are required to hold the following qualifications. These need to be current and updated periodically, as required by the issuing body.

    • Level 1 Kneeboard/Ski Coach (Waterski & Wakeboard Australia)

    • Sailing Dinghy Instructor (Australian Sailing)

    • Windsurfing Instructor (Australian Sailing)

    • Powerboat Handling Certificate (Australian Sailing)

    • Kayak Guide/Flat Water Instructor (Paddle Australia)

    • Canoe Guide/Flat Water Instructor (Paddle Australia)

    • Stand Up Paddleboarding Guide/Flat Water Instructor (Paddle Australia)

    • Boat License

  • The following qualifications are held by instructors at MAC, however they are not mandatory qualifications required for the role. They should be considered as additional qualifications which are desirable and improve the professionalism and safety of our program.

    • Community Surf Rescue Certificate (Surf Life Saving SA)

    • EpiPen Training
